Contest entry for "I Dream...", since the title could be taken in different ways, a goal, what you dream, what you wanted, etc.
....... I went with a bad dream with a double meaning with a reality...... Have you ever had an annoying dream where you seem to be followed/hunted an no matter what ingenius plan or things you do they don't work? How about you have a goal but something always seems to screw it uo or hold you down or something? This drawing is an interpretation of something like that. The hands are my representation of fear, something that holds you down, doesn't matter what it may be, it just does. An obstacle, that could have been place by the place you live, your resource or even yourself. When I think about a lamp, I think a goal or a place to go or that someone is home. ..... I hope it still speaks for it self... • Winners announced on September 01, 2009 Didn't win a place. xD ~ I wanted to enter a contest held by dA at least once, since this one is mostly ( not necessarily ) for the Anime/Manga contest I decided to give it a go. I got a bit stuck on the theme, since it could go in different ways and the judges were not being picky, as long as we followed the rules, we could do almost about anything. I had two sketches for the contest but I could only work with one, so I went with this one. I'm not satisfied in how I color it... mostly the lamp and I sorta got stuck with how the light and dark affect an object in an already dark room/place. So I'm not sure how I did... but like I said I enter the contest just to try it. PS. And you got no idea how many troubles I had with trying to finish this piece before Wed, July 15! Honestly it was one inconvenient after the other, if I didn't hurt my hand my job change my work hours and then the lights went out and lost my work, and then I had to re color things because they were not working, etc. etc. And tonight I had to ask a friend of mine his laptop here at work to submit this thing, because there was no internet at home! So I'm glad I'm done with it... I just had wish I could have done better.... oh well...... See'ya. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I do love it immensely, especially the arms grabbing at you. The lamp is epic also, because when you said lamp I was thinking of the ones around the household, not fire or Kerosene ones.
The little white lights (which I assume are stars) leading out from your outstretched arm to the lamp is symbolic and I really like them, and if not stars I get the impression they are little sprites/faeries leading the way to the light. :3
